In the area
It is a ten minute walk over the Johnson Street Bridge to Market Square which is a great place to browse, with many boutique stores housed in the heritage brick buildings around an open courtyard. Close by is Bastion Square, a lively district with some excellent restaurants, cafes, and street entertainment, as well as the Maritime Museum of BC and from the western end, fantastic views of the harbour.
Stroll down Government Street, passing The Bay Centre with a good selection of high street stores, to the Inner Harbourfront, the magnificent parliament buildings, which are particularly beautiful at night, and the fascinating Royal BC Museum.
