HotelsThe Colonial Bay Motel is a charming collection of cabins set on the sandy shores of Peninsular Lake, just a short drive from Huntsville.
The resort offers two types of accommodation, the comfortable and functional Studio Rooms, or a selection of larger cottages from one to three bedrooms with full kitchens and separate living areas, all nestled in pretty grounds with trees and lawns down to the lake.
The lake has a large sand-bottomed swimming area, with canoes and kayaks available, as well as a children’s play area and a campfire.

The hotel is a in a beautiful location, with a great selection of outdoor activities on your doorstep. There are many stunning trails through both Algonquin and Muskoka Parks such as the Ragged Falls Trail finishing at the spectacular waterfall, with a great swimming and picnic area to complete the hike, or the walk up to the Dorset Scenic Tower set on top of the hill with fantastic views across the Lake of Bays.
Huntsville is just ten minutes drive away and has a thriving arts scene with many galleries and studios as well as the fascinating Muskoka Heritage Place, a realistic pioneer village with many events and demonstrations.
